Special Education Support Center website.

The website provides information and support to families, educators and community members who have an interest in locating and understanding special education services. In addition, the site provides information on instructional practices, agency services for students with disabilities and listings of post-high school opportunities for students.

Phone or Email Assistance

By calling 1-877-843-1343 or sending an email to spedsupcenter@aol.com, individuals will receive assistance in locating available services, training, resources and IEP Meeting facilitation.

IEP Meeting Facilitation

The project trains and provides IEP Facilitators to assist schools and families in conducting successful IEP meetings. The IEP Facilitator is a neutral third party who is responsible for assisting the parties in the IEP meeting so that they are able to develop an IEP that meets state requirements and creates the best possible program for the student (click here for details).

Training: Partnerships for Improved Student Learning, Using the Appreciative Inquiry Process in Special Education

The project provides training to strengthen partnerships between families and educators. Research demonstrates that vibrant partnerships between families and educators improve student outcomes. Partnerships for Improved Student Learning utilizes the appreciative inquiry process to enhance communications which are focused on student strengths and needs.
